BVC has been in the AV consulting and contracting business since 1969. Since then, the technology used to present and communicate ideas has evolved rapidly and the equipment used has become increasingly complex. Computer Aided Drafting and Modeling
Computer Aided Drafting has revolutionized the way construction is accomplished. BVC has years of experience working with architects and general contractors using CAD as a tool for coordinating projects. BVC uses the industry standard drafting software AutoCAD to coordinate audio visual designs into both new construction and renovation plans.
An increasing number of audio visual solutions in the market permit owners and designers an enormous number of options when deciding what will fit best for their aesthetic and functional needs. Working with 3D CAD applications give us a distinct advantage in designing audio and video systems that are precisely defined to provide optimal performance. Using these tools we can communicate with everyone on the design team to ensure the audiovisual plan is coordinated in the construction process.
Acoustic Analysis and Consulting
“If sound could kill, the prisons would be filled with audio engineers” This statement, paraphrased from Don Davis, highlights one of the basic truths we deal with every day. Frequently audio systems don’t measure up.
Acoustical engineering is very important to communication. A church with a poor sound system fails to communicate the “Word” to the parishioners. A boardroom with poor audio has technology standing in the way of productivity. BVC knows that good audio system design is critical to the success of anyone’s mission and we are dedicated to providing our clients with superb acoustic performance.
Using the latest acoustic analysis equipment and software we are able to provide measurable performance data in any acoustic environment. This enables us to consult with our clients on the options available to properly and economically deal with their sound needs from small teleconference boardrooms to stadiums. Our engineers have years of experience using one of the industries most respected predictive analysis software suites, EASE (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers). Using this software, we are able to work from existing paper plans or electronic AutoCAD documents to build a 3D model of the existing or intended space. This model will give us amazingly accurate information on what we can expect acoustically from a space needing acoustic treatment or one that does not yet exist. The software employs the industry’s most comprehensive database of speaker acoustic profiles that allows us to play “What if” with speaker selection and placement. Working close with Architects we are able to provide critical input to the design process to provide our clients solutions that meet their expectations and budget.
